Miranda concert Instagram style.

Last night was the MIRANDA concert and it was all kinds of amazing! There was a huge surprise about half way through her set, her girls PISTOL ANNIES came out and sang a few songs! One of the PA girls is from KY, so it was a homecoming for her!

The openers were great too! Jerrod Niemann and Chris Young! I like when you know the openers and know some of their songs to sing along. Makes for a better experience!

I'm linking up with Ashley for her Instagram Monday!

 I can't wait until she sings here again! You know I'll be getting tickets...for the 3rd time!

Dressing for MIRANDA'S Concert!

On Sunday night I get to attend one of the best country girl's show! She's one of my FAVES! I've seen her once, this past summer and it was AMAZE! This show was rescheduled from the original date back in January because of Blake's father's passing. So, we have been anxiously awaiting this night!

A BIG thanks to Jamie who got us FAB seats!
She's got the hook-up!
And you will definitely see photos after!

Here are my two style options:
Dress & boots
or

For Steph and Katherine...

This post is for two of my dear friends who lost a grandparent on the exact same day earlier this week. Luckily, they both got to spend a lot of time with them throughout their life. From talking with my friends, their grandparents were great people and touched so many others' lives. Though it's hard losing someone, know they are in a better place and you will see them again one day!

I love you both and am here for you for anything, always!

the troubles of a shopper...

When I got my JCrew catalog in the mail a few weeks ago I quickly flipped through it and saw a super cute outfit that would be perfect for spring!

I have many events on the calendar...baby showers, bridal showers, and of course...

You already know how big the racing is here, and how us ladies need to dress the part!

Only a short 5 1/2 weeks until opening weekend! EEEKK!!
{us KY girls love our horsies and bourbon drinking days!}

Here is the outfit I love...

I love the leopard print belt. I think that's why I'm so obsessed!
So many textures and prints that mix well!
The skirt has so many different colors in it, so I can get any color top too!

Last night while at work I was browsing the JCrew website and saw my skirt and was hesitant to order it only because I wanted to get home and double check the size of a skirt and a swim suit I own so I knew I was ordering the correct sizes. {I don't trust the size charts}
JCrew was having a 20% off sale and I had a gift card to use!

When i got home and excitedly went to the website, I was only letdown when my size was gone!

I called the store and luckily they had the skirt, but no luck with the discount :(

i know, poor me...
Oh, the troubles of a shopper...

book review

I finished reading this about 2 weeks ago, but with V-day and my themed posts last week, I put this off. Here's a review/synopsis {without revealing too much!}

February Book Club:

This book was suggested to Britt and I by an employee at a local bookstore. We immediately agreed this would be our book for the month. I couldn't wait to start reading!

This book is kinda like a "50 First Dates" Thriller! There is MAAY-JAH twist at the end and is a serious page turner! It takes me forrrr-evvv-errr (Sandlot "Squints" voice) to read and actually finish a book, so for me to finish this book and be interested has gotta say somethin'!

The main character suffers a tragic accident that leaves her an amnesiac and unable to remember anything from the past, but also unable to remember anything new. She forgets anything she has done when she goes to sleep. She began seeing a Dr. unbeknownst to her husband to encouraged her to start keeping a journal of her daily life and memories she would have. Every day she would read the journal to "remember" her life.

One day she opens her journal and sees she wrote "DON'T TRUST BEN" Suddenly everything her husband has told makes her question everything. What kind of accident caused her condition? Who can she trust? Why is Ben lying to her?

I can't wait to see what everyone else in the book club thinks!

If you decide to read, let me know what you think!

        The Vow

        The other day I saw on the Today Show an interview with the real couple that the book and the movie "The Vow" is based on. It is so neat to see the real couple behind the story. I've wanted to read the book for a while, and of course I want to see the movie!

        The interview is a little over 8 minutes, but at the 4:30 minute mark, Kim the husband, explains why he stayed with his wife through the tough times and didn't walk away. In our society today most people wouldn't keep the commitment he did when their spouse didn't remember who they were. He shows the ultimate meaning of a vow.

        It was a moving interview and one of those {in real life} love stories that I'm waiting on that I was talking about in my post from the yesterday!

        Where are you Cupid?!

        I love love. I like to think of myself of a romantic and love everything about a great love story. I love to watch others get engaged and plan their weddings. I love to hear the stories behind a 50+ year marriage. I cry at sappy movies and actually think stories like that happen in real life.

        I'm just waiting for God, and since today is Vday, Cupid to shoot his arrow on my one true love!

        Since the beginning of the year I have gone on 3 dates, with 3 different guys.

        Yes, you read correctly. That's 3 dates, 3 different guys in the last 6 weeks. :/

        First guy: wet met randomly at a local restaurant/bar. We went out a couple more times, but that didn't last. FLAW: He was too much of a partier. He was a few years younger than me and asked me everyday where the fun places were to go out. Don't get me wrong, I like to go out, but I'm over the every night of the week scene.
        Second guy: We know each other through a mutual friend. He IS a great guy. Has a great job, SO funny, very nice, doesn't over text/annoy, etc. Couldn't say a bad thing about the guy. FLAW: He is about 3 inches shorter than me...when I'm wearing FLATS :/
        I am 5'8'' and when I wear heels, it add 3-4 inches.
        I have had a {complex} against shorter guys since high school. I dated a guy for a brief time in HS that was shorter than me and I could never get over the height issue.

        Does that make me a bad person!? How do I get over this issue?!

        Third Guy: Met a bar a couple weekends ago. Took me to my favorite sushi place. We had a great time and laughed a lot. He jokes and gets my jokes, very easy going. Flaw: there have been a couple signs of disrespect {in my book}.

        I will give any guy a chance. It's fun to go out and experience different people too. To get to know others, and what other people are about. On the other hand, I also know what I want and if there's nothing there, then there's no point in wasting time on a second date. We {He or I} aren't getting any younger!

        At this point in my life I have gone on LOTS of dates. I know what I'm looking for and I guess he's not here yet. While there have been fun and ok/good dates, nothing has been AMAZING and I don't want to settle.
        I want to be wowed and over the moon!
        I want the sappy movie that I believe exists in real life.

        C'mom cupid, strike my man!

        I want to go on over-priced Valentine's dinner dates! :)

        My Vday treat {for myself!}

        Since I don't have a real Valentine, except my Stella girl...this is what I'll be treating myself to:

        my faavveee

        For those of you with Love Bugs, have a Happy Love-y day!

        Valentine's Fancy

        I vaguely spoke of boy {well, he's 34, can I call him a boy} that took me to dinner this past weekend. I don't know if we will go on a second date or not {topic for separate post}...so, hypothetically speaking, IF I had big fancy schmancy Valentine's plans this is what I would dream of wearing on my date...

        Reliving the Glory Days

        Oh to be in college again!
        This is the biggest event on campus. All of the Greek houses have an event to raise money for their philanthropy and this is Chi-Omega's event for Make-A-Wish Foundation. It has turned into a huge event that every house on campus looks forward to every year! The venue where it takes place is a packed house; sold out show-no sitting or standing room! And the Greek community begins to prepare their show MONTHS in advance.

        As a Tri-Delta Alum, I couldn't be more proud of these girls! They put so much effort into the choreography and practices, costumes, and props.

        The theme is "Deltas on Broadway"

        This is the 3rd year in a row my sorority has won overall!
        Congrats DDD's!

        "Sofia and Rosie Risin' to the top"

        Sofia, with her hype girl, from England are now gangsta rappers!
        It's adorable!

        My favorite line is..."sippin' on cherry aid and it tastes good..."
        And..."Nicki is a princess, Ellen is a queen, put 'em all together, it's a Hollywood dream."
        Basically I just love the whole thing!

        How stinkin' precious are they!?

        Got any big, exciting plans!? I'm going to my favorite sushi restaurant with a boy...eh, I'll let you know if it goes well.
        Then girls night Saturday! I think we are planning to seeing The Vow! I'm BEYOND excited for this movie. Just in time for Valentine's Day. I'm not a hater on love...just yet!

        happy weekend!

        i'm hormonal

        For the past year and half or so I've been having some skin break outs {only in my chin area}
        You'd think at this age, this stuff would be over! We aren't in Bieber years anymore!
        But for me, it seems to be worse.
        It's like clockwork. During the same time every month, TO THE  EXACT DAY, that ovulation time, I breakout.

        I believe most of my issue is female/hormonal related, but due to a previous medical condition I cannot take Birth Control, which would help normalize my hormonal breakouts and issues :(

        My issues:
        a.Hormonal breakouts
        b.scarring
        c.redness and irritation

        I've tried multiple different skin care lines and products to clear it up. I'm scared to know how much money I've spent on products, etc. I could have used that money much more wisely {wink, wink}

        Nothing seemed to help so I finally went to a dermatologist. She prescribed a few different antibiotics, topical washes, and creams. They all have different effects and work...ehh...just alright...Currently I am still taking Doxycycline.
        top left to right:  1 , Rx clenia foaming face wash, 3, Rx Retin-a Mricro 5, 6 7 Rx Duac gel

        I've also been buying getting regular facials and other skin care treatments to help. I've had a few chemical peels as well, While the results are great, they are not helping with my main issue all that well.

        One brand I am thinking about trying is the iS CLINICAL brand that Shasta recommends. There are a few products that seem great, just want to pick the best one for me!

         If anyone has any products they SWEAR by, I'd love to know about them!

        It's a ROYGBIV kinda wardrobe!

        I was very excited when I got the J.Crew spring look-book in the mail a couple days ago along with a little gifty card {yes, very little, but hey, every dolla counts!}
        I LOVE the colorful pieces and mixy-matchy going on!

        I know you've seen the previews for the BRIGHT season ahead, but I just couldn't contain myself.

        I. LOVE.

        I WANT so many colored cropped pants!

        My top 3 favorite colors would be the light pink/coral, yellow, and teal!
        What's your favorite pant color?
