Friday's Fancies {date night}

FANCY DATE

If I had a date...& it were a fancy date, I'd wear this LBD number. I haven't been on a fancy date in a while and I'm wishing so bad right now I had one in the works! I have been lusting after that Kate Spade handbag for awhile-best excuse to but it! C'mon girls, if you know a great guy, send him my way...girlfriend needs to wear this outfit, and buy that bag!

Oh, aaaannnnnnnndd let's not forget about the Loubies! Aren't those awesome!? I'll take a pair, or 2!

The outfitting possibilities are endless for {date night}...hopefully I'll have a few dates on my weekends this summer and use some of your awesome outfit inspirations to catch a great guy! Fingers crossed!

iseenoise prints

I saw I See Noise prints on a few other blogs in the past few weeks and absolutely LOVED them! I started following Randa {the etsy shop designer/owner} on Twitter and I'm so glad I did. I saw a tweet yesterday from her that she was selling two prints for $10 each! I IMMEDIATELY emailed her and she reserved them for me in her etsy shop! I've been thinking of redecorating my bathroom for sometime now, and this gives me the perfect chance! {an excuse to redecorate for anything!}I can't wait to hang them!

The prints don't come framed so, I'll have to get them famed!

friday's fancies-picnic style

I'm so ready for summer and summer fashion! I'm also so into the maxi dress! It's so air-y, comfortable, yet fashionable all at the same time! I would definitely wear a maxi dress to sit on the grass for a picnic!

I would also throw on a pair of my fave JCrew shorts and a tank, and I'm ready to go!

And the TB sandals go with just about any summer outfit!

Grab some cute sunnies, your packed picnic basket-->favorite bottle of vino and goodies, your besties and you're ready to go!

I saw this photo from Inslee and just had to include!
Happy picnicing! I can't wait to get out there and enjoy the summer!

the time I contacted Millionaire Matchmaker

Yes, I really did! And then I took matters into my own hands!

A couple of years ago I was watching Millionaire Matchmaker on BravoTV and on this particular episode there was a VERRRYY good looking guy who happened to be my age and live only a state away-maybe 3 hours from his city to mine. During the episode I thought he seemed like a great guy and down-to-earth!

How cute is he!? Totally date-able!

So, I contacted Millionaire Matchmaker and told them I was interested in meeting this guy! I got an email back the next day that said if I wanted to meet the Millionaires I needed to sign up with the agency and go through the selection process. I really wasn't into that since it's based in LA and I'm about 3000 miles away.

I decided to take matters into my own hands!
Who's not on Facebook these days?! {Remember when it was just limited to students in college? And it required .edu to start a www.THEfacebook.com page? Well, that's a whole 'nother issue...} Getting back on track...I went straight to my computer and signed on. I typed in his name and there he was! Just a cute on FB as on TV! I only sent a friend request. Nothin' too craaaazy! Sometime later he had accepted and sent me a message. I was ecstatic! We messaged back and forth for a while. We talked about UK basketball, his team-which we won't discuss ;/ , Keeneland, and our families. His mom is a nurse, too! So much in common, TRUE LOVE!

Here's one of our first convos:

Last summer I contacted him letting him know I would be in his city visiting a friend. I thought we could all get together for dinner {strange? I think not!}, but sadly, he was going to be out of town for work. Later, he contacted me again and invited me to his lake house over Labor Day weekend. Sadly,{again}, I had to work the entire weekend. {We work 3 day blocks on the holidays} So, I couldn't go at all. :(  Can we say bad timing?!

One day we will meet, my future husband!
{this one isn't married like this one- did you see, he got married this past weekend :( }

What extremes have you gone to for a guy!?

weekend fun

This weekend was non-stop and full of fun! Here's the proof!
Keeneland was full of guys and gals dressed to the 10's and racing bets made!
We unfortunately did not win a dime :(
However, fun with friends is always a win!

Later, we surprised Brittany with a 30th Birthday party. Her friends from out of town and us here in town have been planning arrangements for weeks-date, gift, party, Keeneland day, etc. It was a huge success! I was so excited to meet all of her friends from college also! Can't wait to see them again.

All the cute party decor was planned by the fab Miss Katherine. I looked like it came right off a Pinterest board! It was a party I sure hope to have one day!

the Lex girls

our bet was on #4, we lost :(

Later in the evening, I left the surprise party for a short time to support my sorority at an event they had, an alumni silent auction. All of the money raised went to St. Jude Hospital. It was so fun! In college there was a group of boys called the 'Acustocats.' They are a small group who sing with no musical accompaniment-just use their God-given voices. They are unbelievable! They were at the event and serenaded a lucky alumna. Brought back so many college memories!

It was a great weekend spent with friends and I couldn't have asked for a better group of people to spend the weekend with!

RueLaLa Sale

Last Wednesday afternoon RueLaLa was featuring Lilly Pulitzer. I had worked the night before, so when the boutique was to open online, I would be sleeping. I set my alarm to wake up so I wouldn't miss the sale!

A girl's gotta do, what a girl's gotta do!

And how convenient to tap a few buttons from the app on my iphone?! Then back to sleep I went...

I ended up with these 3 purchases.
"Carrie Dip Dye" Pink Salmon Silk Maxi

I have the hardest time deciding what shape sunglasses look good on my face.

Solution:

2 pairs
"Ansley"

"Jennifer"

I love how these sunnies have pink around the rim!

These are perfect for the beach and I've got my beach trip on the calendar for next month!

Shopping Sephora sale

I hope everyone had a great Easter yesterday! My day was spent going to church, sleeping, dinner with some family friends {27 year tradition}, and then off to work. I hope you all feel as blessed as I do!

Now, on to today's topic...

Sephora had their 15% off deal going on last week and I had my eye on the first 2 items for sometime now.
So, I decided to spend the rest of my tax return monies on them! haha. I'll never pass up a sale.
{Another post coming soon about my RueLaLa purchases!}

Here's what I got:
I got the package in the mail yesterday and tried the infamous Mia! It's replacing the current {off-brand} spin brush I currently have. Hope to see some good results soon!

Sephora Collection Pro Concealer Airbrush #57

This was an accidental click into the shopping bag, and I didn't catch my mistake :(

This is the one I MEANT to get:

Do you all like Bumble and Bumble products? What's your favorite for BIGGER hair!? That's my goal!

Did you shop the Sephora sale?! What were your purchases?!

Don't worry, I will get to our opening weekend of Keeneland photos soon!

friday's fancies-flower power

I think I love the florals. It gives personality to outfits and definitely is more modern today than our "grandma-like" florals.

It's also so dainty and girly, which is sooo me! Thank you fashion designers for bringing it back!

Floral prints

Here's a picture of my sister and I in our matching floral jeans 20 years ago. Oh how NOT fashionable! I'm so glad the modern day florals are prettier and styled better!

Look at those shoes. Wow, mom!  Hope you all got a good laugh, I sure did!

I vow to wear my florals better than that!

Happy Spring!

8pril G8ness

As you all are well aware, our KY boys won the National Title Monday night! I happened to be quite ill and had to call in to work. {wink, wink...shhh, don't tell my boss!} I wouldn't have missed it for the world!
#diehardfan

Being from KY and growing up a KY Wildcat is the greatest thing! It's an excitement that is indescribable! Kentucky is the winning-est program in the nation of all time and has the most NCAA titles!

In my lifetime Kentucky teams have won 3 national titles now! When I was a little girl, the last championship won, I remember my mom drove us to school the next day {we were daily bus riders} so we could stop and get our Nat'l Champ. T-shirts on the way to school! I thought that was so cool!

Here's some snapshots of my weekend {Saturday-after the WIN against Louisville to take us to the Final game & Monday night when I was, A'hem...sick!}

C-A-T-S!

hanging the banner!

The party in the streets was so fun. Just like being back in college! Oh, the fun times!
I wouldn't trade being from Lex, or a KY fan for anything!
