Halloween Randoms!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
RANDOM SPOOKTACULAR THINGS

First I have to wish my sweet fur baby a Happy 2nd Birthday! I will be getting her a birthday gift, but not until later in the week, my awful work schedule has me booked up for a few days. I also wish I had time to make her a costume this year. Again, blasted work!
I love and hate my schedule at the same time! It has me tied up for basically 72 hours where I do nothing but rotate to work and sleep.

Stella's homemade costume from last year for a local pet store's costume contest.
Pretty cute and original by her Mama, if I do say so myself!

Look at this house! They have SO much decoration? you can't see it all, but there are actually some cute "scenes."

MY ALTER EGO
KAT VON D
Don't you worry! J.J. is no longer! I kicked him to the curb!
i don't know ff she did in real life (SHE SHOULD) BUT I don't have NO J.J.

Fun & Not so fun facts!

Red painted nails: painted IN the bar! haha. I didn't have time at home, so I took the task with me!

I had to scrub myself to get some of these off before I had to go back to work. Tough! I always heard baby oil did the trick, so i tried. Not easy, but better than nothing.

I think I put the neck tat and the stars on the wrong side IRL hers are opposite. OH WELL, you get the idea! I was trying to be authentic!

I don't like the dark hair on me!

Kate Middleton

A few cute Halloween decorations from around the house

And lastly, a little funny for all you other Republicans out there. Sent to me from the fellow R herself, Mrs. D!

Hope everyone has had a great Halloween weekend and I can't wait to see all of your costumes! Now, when am I going to find time to take down all of my decorations?!

Who am I?!

I don't want to tell you just yet, but here are some clues to my Halloween costume this year!
Who am I kidding...I'm practically giving it away!

1. I am a tattoo artist an have lost of body art on myself... lots of body art!

2. I am a brunette {Lauren is saying "Goodbye blonde!"...for 1 night only...}

I will be able to answer the all important question: Do blondes really have more fun?!

3. Jesse James and I are an on again/off again couple...

4. I had my own show on TLC which showed my work as a tattoo artist in my tattoo shop.

5. I have my own makeup line at Sephora!

and here is a photo of my Halloween wreath, for my front door, I made a few weeks ago. {yes, a little late on sharing. Forgive me!} I wanted to get a BIG pretty purple bow to add to the top, but I haven't been to a craft store to buy any ribbon since I bought the feather boas, etc.

CASPER
the Friendly Ghost!

this was a door/wall hanger that had a ribbon to hang with that I untied and used on the wreath!
Found it at Hobby Lobby on the Halloween Sale isle!
What are your costumes and fun plans?!
Secretly, I wish I was an ER nurse on this weekend to see what people come into the ER dressed as would make for an interesting and exciting night!

Uncorked

Last week I was invited this event. It's a wine tasting competition for charity! When you go, teams of 3 are entered and each team brings 3 bottles of the same wine. The wine is bagged, tagged, and offered to the contestants for sampling and scoring. You then are a contestant to go around and sample as many wines as you like and give them a score 1-10 on how well you liked or disliked it! At the end someone tallies the votes and the wine with the most votes as best wine wins! All of the proceeds from entering go to charities too!

All of the wines had to be South American Red Wines.  These were the top winners:
1. Palo Alto Reserva -Blend
2. Colones del Sol -Malbec
3. Cigar Box- Malbec
4. Kaiken -Cab
5. Tilia -Malbec '10

I remember trying and LOVING #4! {It was bottle #122 in it's disguise} I'm definitely going to have to buy these and try at home! I am curious to see the price range on these! You should also try for your girls' night, or date night!

unfortunately I didn't take any more photos :(

I was too busy wine tasting! DUH...!

This was SUCH a fun idea and SUCH a fun event! I would love to attend again or help my city plan something like this!

visit the site HERE for more info on the charities, past events, winners, sponsors, etc.

As seen on Pinterest...now in my bathroom!

Just like everyone else, I've been addicted to the Pinterest craze! One of the first pins I loved was this:
So now, I have one hanging in my bathroom! I had fatherly help to saw off the handle and drill a hole through for the ribbon, but painting it black, hanging, and adorning with my jewels, well, that's all me!

Now my necklaces don't get tangled like they did in a smaller/shorter jewelry display and it takes up bare space on my wall. Functional AND wall decor. Perfect.

spice up your arm candy!

I was browsing blogs back in September and came across this post at Miss Lindsay's blog. I suddenly fell in love with the bracelet she blogged about and soon after ordered one for myself. I've been wearing mine more and more lately and getting lots of complements on it! I had to share, so you could get one for yourself or one of their other pretty pieces!

This particular one, the leather band comes in a few different colors.

Happy Shopping! I may be back there soon myself!

lamps my way

A couple months ago I found these lamps at Home Goods for $29.99 (each). I love the mercury glass base, but not crazy about the plain gray drum shade. So, since then, I've been searching for a new, better, more fashionable shade. Do you know how hard it is to find a store that ONLY sells lamp shades?! I went to all the thrift stores in town and it's a combined deal: Lamp + Shade. Garden Ridge sold only shades, but poor selection. I then looked online. I settled with this burlap drum shade from Pottery Barn

Much better, don't you agree?!

Burlap is really IN right now, and I love it. I love the natural look, and how it can still be "dressed up!"

A weekend at the Races

October is the fall meet for horse racing here in the Bluegrass state and we made an appearance opening weekend! The weather was unbelievable! I actually got sunburned; not a cloud in the sky! Saturday we had a combined birthday tailgate for Sarah's birthday with a full brunch menu. All the food was gone before I could snap a picture!
We had blueberry muffins, cinnamon rolls, hash-brown casserole, egg strada {de-lish egg & bacon casserole}, fruit, and complete with mimosas!

Tailgate cupcakes. Party hats for Sarah & my Bdays! Makers and horses for the obvious!

Neurosurgery Nurses. +1, Harper!

Birthday Girls!
I'm not huge into the gambling, but I did bet on this horse! *Notice her name* She came in 3rd! So I did win a little money!

And it was this girl's 1st time EVER to Keeneland! I think we showed her a great time!

Sunday Racing
the finish line
You better believe we will be back at the track next weekend!

Tail Wagging Tuesday linkup

I ALWAYS have Stella on a leash because she will run after a bunny or start going on her nightly walking path {that my mom takes her on}, but she get's so excited to get in my car and go home, or go somewhere, I've learned that she won't run away when the car door is open, she just jumps in!

Her favorite seat in the car. The driver side door handle.

just a recent sweet face

She looks sweet, but don't let her 6 pounds and sweet little face fool you! She rips her toys to shreds looking for the ball and squeaker in just a few minutes!

Birthday Festivities Continued...

Again, I want to thank everyone who helped me celebrate my birthday last week! Thank you for all the sweet cards and gifts. I had a great time and couldn't have asked for better friends to have with me celebrating!

First, was family night. Dinner and cake. And see previous post to meeting Josh Hopkins!
Then this Friday night was my night with my friends! We had dinner at a local pizza place and then went out downtown, where I met a man....Notice his age. The age when I'll actually meet one...last photo!

Miss Danielle from here was visiting for the weekend and graced us with her presence!
