in a rut...

Do you ever feel like you're in a rut? Lately I've felt that way, especially here. I could go into a whole different tangent about life, but I'll save that for another day! I've felt like I've not had too much to chat about or share on here or had the energy to do so.
Hopefully, I'll get my groove back!

Anyways, a few weeks ago a friend had a baby shower for her sister and I quickly said I wanted to help with the decorations. Here are a few pictures from the shower and of what I made! It was so easy and cheap!

cake pops, Jamie made. So yumm-y

And of course I don't have a pic with the mommy to be...

Last week was my mom's birthday!
My sister and I went shopping and got her tons of goodies...

wee bit blurry...
So...there's a baby shower and a birthday party from the past couple weeks.
I've been working...EVERY WEEKEND...so my social life is NON-EXISENT
:(

I missed one of my best friends' celebratory dinners and I'm going to miss a going away party for another friend this Thursday. Sometimes my schedule...SUCKS.

More of a catch-up on life to come, and hopefully less of a blogging rut...
thanks for sticking around!

Happy 30th Anniversary

I'm a day late with this post, but if you follow me on Twitter you know yesterday was my parents' 30th wedding anniversary!

They met in college at the grand University of Kentucky Kirwin and Blanding towers. {for those of you who weren't so lucky to attend this fine school...those are the infamous dorms which haven't been updated since they were originally built...therefore, they are ancient, I mean Vintage! And yes, my Sis and I lived in them as well!} Their story isn't anything elaborate. They just met through mutual friends, some women's basketball players for UK and living at the dorms. I think my dad basically bugged the crap out of my mom until she said "Yes" to a date.

And then she said "YES' to the Bling Bling!
{Kinda pathetic I don't know more, and I know I've been told "the story" before}

They didn't want a huge surprise party or any other surprise so my sister and I complied. They went to dinner and I had called erlier in the day to get them a cake made, so I left the cake and cards from my Sis and I for them at their house for when they got home from dinner!

I left the cake in the box as to make sure I didn't destroy it!
The flowers Dad sent to Mom...puurrrrty
In October, they have planned a Hawaiian cruise for their celebration. {Sis and I are a bit jealous! We don't even need to sit with them at dinner and I have 3 weeks vacation available...what's the problem!?}

In all seriousness, my parents deserve time away from us and life at home for a little bit to vacation and relax.

What I'm Loving Today!

On my quest to get back to my positive self I'm going to post about WHAT I'M LOVING!
{not the many things I'm bummed about}
first:
While watching The Bachelor I loved this statement from Emily:
"I'm not this uptight girl that I come across as. I like to have fun too. If I was given dates that I got to go divin' with sharks and ya know, going down lines in the jungle, I would be fun too!"
see! she's adventurous
It just goes to prove {which we have all gathered over the many years of Bachelor/ette history} ABC edits the show and the contestants how they want it all to look to us, the viewers.
second
Keeneland opening weekend is only 4 short weekends away! It will be here before we know it! I've already been planning my attire, which I'm sure you have too! Maybe this year I'll actually make a bet on these pretty horses!
third
Katy Perry & Kanye  E.T.
The beat is just rockin'...or should I say infectious?!
{I'm not a Kanye fan...at all, but I have to say, I do love this song}
fourth
My Dad.
I love my dad everyday, but he has been working on my taxes for me!!
 Because this girl has zero clue in the world how to! I know they sell the computer program that is apparently step-by-step {and the name of it now slips my mind. Taxes for Dummies I'm sure} But, I still would do it alllllll wrong. I'm sure I would find a way to make myself pay more money when in fact, I would really be getting a refund.
He's saving me lots of mooo-lah so I don't have to take all my tax info to an expensive accountant. Instead of paying someone else, he's doing them for me and I get a check from the government! Oh wait...2 checks! One fed, one state! So, it's a win, win situation for me. Why didn't he do them for me the past few years? Why did I pay so much!?
Love ya dad!
fifth
My Mom.
Again, I love my mom too, everyday, but...
Tomorrow is her Birthday! Happy Birthday!

I hope you all are having a good start to your week!
