The Night Circus

Wednesday night B and I went to a local bookstore and saw the author or The Night Circus speak about the book! We started a book club last year {and are trying to keep it going!} and this was our book in December. It was AHH-MAYY-ZZZIINNGG. Such a great story, I can't describe to you how great. When reading the book, I felt like I was there, or definitely wanted to be! This is a MUST READ! You won't be disappointed!


After her telling of her background she was in theater and playwriting, it makes so much sense as to how well this story was written and the detail and description that she uses. {she never intended on being a writer!} After hearing how much time, effort, and revising went into this book, I'm surprised she stuck with it! I know I couldn't do it! It took over 5 years! Hearing the little details and her "favorites'' of characters, etc was so neat!

We were a little late to the party, but there were drinks named after things from the book! So fun!

I was so bummed today when I found out that my future hubby is engaged. 

{Although I think I'm a month behind on this news} 

You all know Dave from Lady A, well, he and I are friends, in real life. Well, I'm not sure what he would call it, but we were in my cousins wedding and communicated via Facebook once last year. I'd call that friends, wouldn't you!?

At my cousins wedding we sat together at the wedding party table and chatted for a while about his future plans of moving to Nashville and me being a nurse, etc.

In all seriousness, he's a great and genuine person and I wish him all the best. {Just like I did with his singing career...and now look at him, winning Grammys!}

I know it's tuesday, but...

So, I'm a couple days late posting on my weekend, but I slept all day yesterday. LITERALLY! You know my sleeping patterns are all crazy, so now it's 4:45am...you get the gist. 

Well, Miranda postponed her concert because of Blake's dad passing away. Then, Saturday, Thompson Square cancelled due to family illness. So, my 2 concert weekend was a ZERO concert weekend :( 

But, it was a long-time friends' birthday! So, we celebrated!

I was asked yesterday what blush I was wearing in the Miranda concert pic. I have a MANY different blushes, but it was FLEUR POWER! it's a great pinky color! 

It was my primary color last summer!

You gals got any fun plans this weekend?! Since the Miranda concert is postponed, some friends and I are going out for drinks at a local fave, and tomorrow...

FOUR THE RECORD

I'm a HUGE Miranda fan and was supposed to see her in concert here this friday night. Sadly, she is having to reschedule due to Blake Shelton's father dying this week. 

I was beyond excited, and looking forward to it ALL WEEK! 

But, I know unexpected things happen and family is more important and I send my love to them. 


Yesterday, when I was sleeping Jamie texted me to tell me she had to reschedule and I guess I read it in my sleep, then I dreamed that Miranda and I were best friends. We were on a big farm and playing with a horse. Stella was there too, playing with her horse. I was obv wearing cowboy boots and a dress...duh. Then a hottie came up and said it was time to go work out. 
{The 2 things on my mind right now...Miranda concert and getting in shape...so a personal trainer would be nice too...} 
dreams are so strange

I'll be just as excited in late February, when it has been rescheduled!

This will be the 2nd time seeing her in concert. See, BIG fan! 

I watched Nashville Star when she was discovered on that show! 

This past summer she came to a small town about an hour and a half from me and a friend and I drove to see her. The venue was very small, and the concert was great!

HANA Air Hair Dryer Review

A few months ago I was asked by Misikko to review their HANA Air Premiere Hair Dryer.  I was beyond thrilled to be asked! 

The product came in a package with lots of other beauty products to try! A great way to win a girl over! 

After the first use I was hooked! The dryer dried my hair in 6-7 minutes. {This will obviously vary for different hair length and thickness} But for me, it knocked off about 50% of the time! Automatic selling point for me! Besides the fast drying time, my hair is left feeling silky smooth, a great hair quality to have!

I think it's been a great product asset in the styling of my hair these last few months!

I know the holidays are over, buy Valentine's Day is just around the corner. So you fellas out there, you can consider this as a gift to your lady love! Also, if you know any sister, BFF, daughter, etc with a birthday coming up, this is also a great gift idea!

inspiration

Tonight at church this piece of a Calvin & Hobbes comic strip was shown. The message was about "drifting" and how you go about your daily life like "normal," then one day things aren't as they should be.

The preacher also compared it to an ocean current. How you are at the beach one day and you set your stuff down then go out in the water and before you know it you are down the beach a ways, away from your original starting place and you didn't realize you had drifted so far. There is an unseen force acting on us at all times. 

I thought this message was a perfect illustration of how we are so wrapped up in the world and get lost and drift away from what's truly important. 

I always need a pull back into the original starting place. I think everyone does!
