scarf love
I recently bought two new scarfs from Ann Taylor. One was on sale and one I bought with a coupon: 40% off! #bargainshopper :)
Scarfs are something so easy to transition into the season and add extra POP of color to the ensemble! And you can wear them with multiple outfits! #bonus
Here they are with the two dresses {the blue one from yesterday's post} I intend on wearing them with! The colors are so fun!
Happy Spring y'all!

i fear for my safety!
This coming weekend, Saturday evening at 6:09 to be exact, is the Final Four game between UK and UofL. If you are unaware of the rivalry of between us and UofL, let me just say it's MASSIVE, GIGANTIC, WW3-LIKE. I won't go into any more detail, because that could be an entire post all on its' own!
Well, you all are aware that this is March Madness. If you aren't, then you must be living under a rock!
When I went to college, the first friend I made lived 2 doors down from me in the dorms and we quickly became friends. Read more about Shea and our friendship here.
Shea and Stinson love birds |
Well, Shea and her fiance are getting married THIS coming Saturday in downtown LOUISVILLE. AHHH!!!!
Do you see the situation I am in?!
I will be in downtown Louisville, on the biggest game of the season, yet, in the middle of the largest state rivalry, and probably nation's rivalry.
I will be wearing this, UK blue dress.
One of a few things need to happen:
1: I need to find a body guard
2: Sista needs to postpone her wedding
3. I send her gift and all my love at a later date {don't really want to miss the game: PRIORITIES}
I'm hoping for #1 or #2, but as seeing that I haven't gotten a notice of postponement, looks like the wedding is still on!
So I guess it would be fun to have a body guard and feel really important!
I just hope the reception has a MAY-JAH big screen so we can watch the game. If not, then I may have to leave and disown her as a friend for life. {Kidding} What was she thinking when she was planing her big day?!
I just ask for your prayers, to keep me safe in a city where I will be from the rivalry team!

#BBN #marchmadness
My last few weeks have been consumed by March Madness, bracketology, and our CATS! At work we do a bracket pool and while I brag that I got 2nd place last year, my bracket has sadly fallen from 2nd place again to nothing this year :( All because Duke, Missouri and Vandy lost so early. I had them going pretty far...And honestly Duke losing can RUIN my bracket any day!

A friend from nursing school just found out the sex of her baby last week. and of course there's pink outfits to go with these! |
my little cheerleader! |
I WISH I could have gone to CATlanta this weekend for the tournament. I've never been, but you can bet your bottom dollar honey, I will one day!
I guess I'll settle for an afternoon of cocktails with the girls!
Did you see that we are playing Louisville to make it to the championship game?! Yes, I realize I talk like we've already won.
Do you all fill out brackets and get into March Madness too?!

Friday's Fancies March Madness edition
I'm so excited for today's Friday's Fancies!
It's undeniably the most exciting month for the state of Kentucky! I love that I bleed blue!
The feelings and emotions all from a game are amazing!
I have to work tonight for the big re-match of UK vs IU. I kinda want to call-in or hurt the person who made my schedule! But, I will be watching the game at work!
You can count on it! This girl WILL NOT MISS IT!
I just bought the silk colorblock scarf you see in between my outfit choices. I can't wait for it to come in the mail so I can wear it on our NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAMEDAY! :)
GO BIG BLUE
please excuse the small photo and empty space, etc. blog is actin up!

where are those pores?!
Who likes a shiny, oily looking forehead and face?
Not moi!
Who likes big pores?
Not moi!
Who likes a smooth looking face with easy makeup application?!
You too!?
A while ago I ordered some goodies from Sephora and got a sample of Clinique's Pore Refining Solutions instant Perfector As you all well know I work long hours and seriously half-way into my shift I'm wiping my face to get the oil off.
Seriously, the US government could use the oil from my face to power cars and not have to pay foreign counties for their oil billions of dollars and be in debt. The could stay local...
Problem solved!
Back to the topic at hand...
I used this pore refiner-it's not really a makeup primer-and I didn't have a, let's call it an OIL SPILL on my face! This product has earned it's place in my list of MUST HAVES. No ifs, ands, or buts.
Do yourself a favor and go get it!
With Makeup Forever Finishing Powder also, you have yourself a winning combo! I know a few friends who use it & will also agree! I think I've seen some of you also loving it too!
No shine, no pores and a perfect matte look. That's what i need at least!
i was not asked to endorse these products. these are my opinions and experiences with them only

in a rut...
Do you ever feel like you're in a rut? Lately I've felt that way, especially here. I could go into a whole different tangent about life, but I'll save that for another day! I've felt like I've not had too much to chat about or share on here or had the energy to do so.
Hopefully, I'll get my groove back!
Anyways, a few weeks ago a friend had a baby shower for her sister and I quickly said I wanted to help with the decorations. Here are a few pictures from the shower and of what I made! It was so easy and cheap!
cake pops, Jamie made. So yumm-y |
And of course I don't have a pic with the mommy to be...
Last week was my mom's birthday!
My sister and I went shopping and got her tons of goodies...
wee bit blurry... |
So...there's a baby shower and a birthday party from the past couple weeks.
I've been working...EVERY WEEKEND...so my social life is NON-EXISENT
:(
I missed one of my best friends' celebratory dinners and I'm going to miss a going away party for another friend this Thursday. Sometimes my schedule...SUCKS.
More of a catch-up on life to come, and hopefully less of a blogging rut...
thanks for sticking around!

the storms
Last night, there was a huge line of storms that spanned North to South in the midwest. It traveled east across 5-6 states and destroyed so much. So many people lost their lives, loved ones, and homes.
My parents wanted me, their oldest and favorite daughter :) at home with them in case we needed to go to the basement with the storms heading our way. I had to work last night, so I slept at their house all day. My dad had taken my car back to my house and left it in my garage so it wouldn't get hit with pea-sized, golf ball, tea-cup, soft-ball sized hail. {If you live in central KY, then you understand the different sized hail humor...thanks Bill Meck!} When I woke up, he drove me home quickly so I could shower, and he could grab fast food for dinner. My grandparents and aunt were also at my parents for safekeeping. Sister was with her BFF in a friend's basement--they were let out of a work class early and headed underground!
I packed a quick "overnight" bag of my things to get ready for work. I also grabbed a few valuables to keep at my parents in their basement. Ya know, I couldn't lose my computer--it has my documented memories on it--aka pictures!! And I grabbed a pair of earrings my parents got me for graduation. They have sentimental meaning! Annndd...they were expensive! If I could've run out with my 60inch TV I would've grabbed that too! {Wouldn't that be a sight!?}
When I got back to my parents I quickly got ready for work and realized I had forgotten my volumizing hair rollers! AHH! What's important here!? Big hair or safety!?
So, I was almost done and my mom yells at me to come downstairs! They had seen the rain start to swirl out back. So scary. I've never had to go in the basement for this eery of weather before! After it settled, we all went back upstairs and listened to more weather reports. Luckily, Stella is not afraid of thunder...she's a trooper! We stayed in the basement for about 5-10 minutes for the rain and dark skies to pass and then went back upstairs.
Thankfully, my other grandparents who live in Louisville, KY were safe and untouched by the horrendous weather. I also have family right across the river in Indiana, who were also safe. {There was serious damage in S. IN}
At work we were on a mass causality alert. We were admitting patients from all over the state where other hospitals were at max capacity. It was a crazy night! People were admitted with no identification/name, and no idea how their injuries happened. I hope their families find them soon!

I was so saddened to hear reports of the destruction in Indiana and West Liberty, Ky. There were other towns that were hit too, and my thoughts and prayers go out to all the families affected everywhere.
