Inspiration

I've been MIA for 2 months, crazy! Hopefully I'll get back into the swing of blogging and have missed you all terribly, but I have a sweet lady to share with you all. 

Jana is a member at my church and I've known her since I was a little girl. Her mother was my middle school counselor and their family is just the nicest and most caring people you'd ever meet. 

One week ago today, her husband couldn't wake her up and long story short she is in my ICU at the hospital and very sick. She's had a rough week with trying times. I won't go into detail, other to say that she and the family would appreciate your thoughts and prayers.

There's so many people connected to her and her family, even just within our hospital setting! She is truly loved and has touched so many people's lives!

Memorial Day

After getting home from Florida with a lot of purchases from the outlet stores here are a few items from my loot! A few coordinate for Memorial Day! 

The skirt and clutch are both from JCrew outlet and the shoes are TOMS crochet that I found on Sanibel Island! But, my suitcase was bustin at the seams with new purchases! 

A girl's gotta get her shop on...but now I'll be paying it off for the next few months... :)

Can't end today without thinking of thanking all of the service men and women who have served and who will serve in the future for our freedom so we can enjoy days like today! Those who have given their life for our country will always be remembered.

I just had to go to one of my favorite places to get a slice of one of the best cakes on this planet!

The other night this commercial came on TV and after it was over my dad said,"Lauren, that is you! Are you going to go blog about it now!?" And I truthfully said,"Uhh...yeah!" 

This commercial relates to all of us...you know you do it!

Friday's Fancies {Chambray Love}

Chambray: Such a great fabric to wear this season! It's light and airy and goes with just about any thing you pair it with! Seems like a problem-solver piece to own!

I own a dress/outfit similar to the top creation, but will absolutely be adding more to my wardrobe this season! 

Garden Party

With spring in the air and summer just around the corner, I am wanting a home project to spruce up my drab backyard! The day I first looked at my house on my house-hunting, I imagined a cute little patio to have guests over for summer nights and fun get-togethers! I have yet to make that happen, but think I may do it in the next month! I have a few ideas for decor and just need the big portion of laying the patio and planting some trees to hide the neighbors! No one wants nosey neighbors peeking in on all the fun! The fun stuff will be planting the pretty colorful flowers {never dreamed I'd ever say that!} and adding twinkle lights, tiki torches, and colorful cushions for the furniture! 

Can't wait to have my first party...Cocktials for all!

Nurse's Week

Happy Nurse's Week to all my amazing nursey friends! I have met so many amazing nurses throughout my life who have made me the nurse I am today! From the friends I made in nursing school, my co-workers over the past 5 years of my career (past & present), and my family of nurses (my mother, aunt, 2 cousins and now my sister!)

To all of you just starting your nursing career, it can be tough at times, but worth it and you will grow and become a strong person a better nurse from all you encounter!

im in love...with the maxi

Last summer I bought a couple maxi dresses and absolutely lovvveed them! So, this summer, I'm buying more! I've already bought two for the season. You may have already seen the photos! These long flowy beauties are heaven and so comfy. How amazing?! They are perfect! 

Not only are they all the things I just said, but they cover my pale legs until I get some color-never will I know what it's like to have a "great natural tan." It's a job for me to get any kind of color.

I just use the spray in desperate times for that, but all summer, I can cover up and look fab all at the same time. GENIUS. 

I hope they never go out of fashion, or you can best believe I'll be the one wearing them when they are long out of style. I'll be the girl stuck in 2012...in 2020. {Like the women with hair from the 70's} No joke.

And for all you preggo mamas, it's perfect little cute dresses, and how easy & comfortable!? If I were preggo, I'd stock up! Well, I'm stocking up anyways!

Friday's Fancies {Kentucky Derby}

This week's Friday's Fancies was a NO BRAINER! Being from the Horse capital of the world, and living only 1 hour from the Derby city, of course I am going to choose the Derby option! DUH! Girls, the Derby is a formal and unique experience! The ladies dress in their gorgeous hats and start planning their entire ensemble around their FAB. hat. The hat tradition is so awesome. It's so neat to see all the extravagant hats!

I've only been to the Derby once--to the infield, which is a totally different experience. It's the informal, wild party.

happy birthday

Monday my friend Jill and her husband went to the hospital to have their sweet little baby boy. He was fashionably late gracing the world with his presence. Finally, Tuesday afternoon Tanner James S. was welcomed into the world! He weighed 8lbs 9oz and was 21 1/4 inches long, with pretty blue eyes! 

He is one blessed little man with an amazing family.

Before this picture, I was holding him and he was...umm, pretty "gas-y" and I felt something warm. The nurse {a friend} and I checked his diaper, and good thing we did, because he had a huge dirty diaper, and a little had leaked on me! As you can see, I was working and wearing scrubs, so good clothes weren't ruined! 

The last baby I held peed on me...something about babies, bodily fluids, and me...?!

I still can't wait to babysit...dirty diapers and all!

Friday's Fancies {date night}

FANCY DATE

If I had a date...& it were a fancy date, I'd wear this LBD number. I haven't been on a fancy date in a while and I'm wishing so bad right now I had one in the works! I have been lusting after that Kate Spade handbag for awhile-best excuse to but it! C'mon girls, if you know a great guy, send him my way...girlfriend needs to wear this outfit, and buy that bag!

Oh, aaaannnnnnnndd let's not forget about the Loubies! Aren't those awesome!? I'll take a pair, or 2!

The outfitting possibilities are endless for {date night}...hopefully I'll have a few dates on my weekends this summer and use some of your awesome outfit inspirations to catch a great guy! Fingers crossed!

iseenoise prints

I saw I See Noise prints on a few other blogs in the past few weeks and absolutely LOVED them! I started following Randa {the etsy shop designer/owner} on Twitter and I'm so glad I did. I saw a tweet yesterday from her that she was selling two prints for $10 each! I IMMEDIATELY emailed her and she reserved them for me in her etsy shop! I've been thinking of redecorating my bathroom for sometime now, and this gives me the perfect chance! {an excuse to redecorate for anything!}I can't wait to hang them!

The prints don't come framed so, I'll have to get them famed!

I'm so ready for summer and summer fashion! I'm also so into the maxi dress! It's so air-y, comfortable, yet fashionable all at the same time! I would definitely wear a maxi dress to sit on the grass for a picnic! 

I would also throw on a pair of my fave JCrew shorts and a tank, and I'm ready to go! 

And the TB sandals go with just about any summer outfit!
